Lung Cancer Screening

You May Not Meet the Current Screening Criteria.

Based on your responses, you may not meet all the criteria for the National Lung Cancer Screening Program at this time. The program is specifically designed for individuals aged 50-70 who have a significant smoking history (current smokers or quit within the past 10 years with at least 30 pack-years).

However, this doesn’t mean you should ignore your lung health:

  • If you’re experiencing symptoms such as a persistent cough, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, chest pain, or unexplained weight loss, please consult your GP or contact our practice immediately
  • If you’re a smoker, consider speaking with your healthcare provider about smoking cessation programs
  • If your circumstances change (such as reaching age 50 or having additional concerns), you may become eligible in the future.

Still Have Concerns About Lung Cancer?

Even if you’re not eligible for the screening program, Mr Adrian Pick welcomes consultations for anyone with concerns about lung health or lung cancer risk. We can assess your individual situation and discuss appropriate next steps.
